					<description>Actually, Brit, I saw a version some years ago about an education programme for prostitutes. The tag line then was, 'You can lead a whore to culture, but can you make her think?'.

But the point remains. The tv programme is a bit of a lark I think and some of the girls are doing the hardest work they've ever done in their lives. Forget learning or trying to improve. They're looking for short-cuts and skives.

As a 'PS' though I read somewhere that the finishing school - which had actually closed down and was reopened specially for the programme - has received lots of enquiries from people wishing to brush up on their social skills.
